Assistant Commissioner for Policy

Will Carry is the Assistant Commissioner for Policy at the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT). At DOT he works on a broad range of policy issues, including electric vehicle charging, micromobility, accessibility, automated vehicles, Vision Zero, congestion pricing, and innovation. Will has 20 years of public sector experience in transportation in the New York City metropolitan region. While at NYC DOT, he led the development of the agency’s bus rapid transit vision plan, strategic plan, and electric vehicle charging strategy. 

Will has held several roles within NYC DOT, as well as positions at the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Long-Term Planning and New Jersey Transit. He holds an A.B. in Public Policy from Princeton University and a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
