
Quemuel “Q” Arroyo is a transportation and universal design expert. He currently serves as the first Chief Accessibility Officer and Senior Advisor to the Chair & CEO of the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Quemuel joined the MTA from Charge, a micro-mobility docking station startup he co-founded and served as interim President and Global Head of Community. Prior to Charge, he served as the first Chief Accessibility Specialist at the NYC Department of Transportation.
Quemuel was born in the Dominican Republic and lives in Harlem. He serves on the boards of several nonprofits including NYC Outward Bound Schools, Project Sunshine, Hudson River Community Sailing, and is a trustee of New York University. He obtained a BA in Urban Design and History of Architecture from New York University and an MPA from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
Quemuel is an avid scuba diver and loves to sail on NYC’s waterways or as he likes to call it, the sixth borough.
