An Atlanta native, Nichole Hollis manages the City of Atlanta's Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program under the Department of Transportation within the Strategy & Planning Division. She leads the agency in encouraging students in the Atlanta Public Schools district, one of the largest districts in Georgia with primarily urban communities, to take active modes of transportation to school, including walking and biking. She also develops equity-focused strategies and plans that benefit students' routes to school.
Nichole has over ten years of experience in the transportation industry. She has worked on SRTS plans at the state and local levels, focusing on improving regional air quality and ensuring youth in grades Kindergarten through 12th have safe and accessible routes to school. In her current role, she continues to coordinate SRTS projects across the city's 12 districts.
