Liza Ehrlich is the Chief Operating Officer at The Horticultural Society of New York, where she leads operational planning and community-based horticultural projects and programs for a staff of 125. With over two decades of experience, Liza has consistently innovated in workforce development, notably at the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, where she was the founding Chief of Workforce Development. She managed large-scale employment programs, leveraging government funds to create thousands of local jobs, strengthening communities both economically and through urban greening. At The Hort, she oversees the execution of government contracts and manages large-scale, decentralized operations across NYC. Liza holds a Bachelor of Arts in American History and Government from the University of Delaware and has received several awards, including the NYC Parks Commissioner’s Employee of the Year. She is also an inaugural fellow of CORO NY’s Workforce Systems Leadership Program. Liza has presented at local, national, and international conferences on workforce innovation. She lives in Manhattan with her family.
