- Make Brooklyn Safer in (2013), a coalition of neighbors brought together by the death of a child on the sidewalk, killed by a reckless driver. Make Brooklyn Safer developed local street maps, with empirical and analytic data used to document unsafe locations across Brooklyn neighborhoods. These maps were used by city agencies as well as police precincts to pinpoint and document locations of needed improvements.
- Kidical Mass NYC (2015) allowing kids to make NYC streets safer for everyone with bike rides, clinics and resources for kids and families who want to get around NYC by bike.
- and most recently one of the co-founders of Bergen Bike Bus and BikeBus.nyc; A Bike Bus is a simple routine; creating a safe and fun way for kids and young adults to get to school by bike, on a weekly basis through the NYC DOE school year. BikeBus.nyc shares resources for kids and their people to start their own bike bus.
- StreetsPAC - Hilda is a founding board member of StreetsPAC, a political action committee dedicated to electing public officials committed to improving the safety, mobility, and livability of New York City streets.
