Diniece Mendes is an experienced Civil Engineer and transportation professional with a decade of progressive public sector experience. As the Director for Freight Mobility at NYC DOT, Diniece is at the forefront of advancing transformative urban freight policies, programs, and projects to ensure goods are moved in a safe, sustainable, efficient, and equitable manner, while supporting the economic competitiveness of NYC.
Besides her pivotal role at NYC DOT, Diniece actively contributes to the broader transportation community. She is an elected member of the Board of Governors of ASCE’s Transportation and Development Institute, reflecting her deep commitment to the civil engineering profession. Diniece holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from City College of New York CUNY. Diniece is passionate about guiding and uplifting the next wave of leaders, believing strongly in the transformative power of education and mentorship.
