Sara Lind is Co-Executive Director at Open Plans, a nonprofit with the mission to transform how people experience New York City’s streets.
Sara helps shape the policy and advocacy agenda for the organization and works directly on campaigns related to curb management, public space, eliminating parking mandates, and generally making our streets and city more livable.
Key victories have included a permanent Open Restaurants program, expanding Summer Streets to every Borough, the Mayor’s appointment of the first Chief Public Realm Officer, and the inclusion of lifting parking mandates in NYC’s proposed zoning text amendment.
Sara was named to the City & State 40 Under 40 Nonprofit Leaders list for her work at Open Plans. She holds a JD from the University of Chicago, a Master of International Affairs from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and a BS in Economics and Political Science from The University of Wisconsin.
