Anthony Perez is the Bronx Borough Commissioner at the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT). In this role, Anthony serves as the point person to the public, elected officials, community boards and community groups for all DOT operations in the Bronx, including street improvement projects and Vision Zero safety initiatives, as well as all other routine DOT work including street signage, sidewalk repairs, and traffic signals. Prior to joining DOT, Anthony served as the Manhattan Borough Commissioner at NYC Parks and Deputy Chief of Staff of the New York City Council Speaker’s Office. After completing the NYC Urban Fellows Program, Anthony began his career in government in the Bloomberg Administration serving in a number of roles at the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and participated in the NYU Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in Public Service (FELPS) while working at the Mayor’s Fund. Born and raised in the Bronx, Anthony has been deeply involved in the local community and NYC civic organizations for over a decade. He is the former treasurer of Bronx Community Board 7 and former chair of Bronx Neighborhood Advisory Board 7, and is currently a board member at the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Anthony earned a BA in political science from Union College, and still lives in the Bronx with his wife, 4-year-old English Bulldog, and his 2-year-old daughter.
