Candice is an Urban Planner and Designer at Gehl Studio New York office working closely with city agencies and community leaders across the nation to highlight public space as a platform to impact equitable outcomes and communities. With a background in environmental journalism and long-range planning, Candice integrates social science research, participatory planning, and community-empowered public realm and streetscape design into her projects. She has worked on a range of public space design and evaluation efforts in New York, Washington, D.C., Cambridge, San Francisco Bay Area, and Northwest Arkansas. She recently published her original research, "Public Space: The Critical Connection in a Sometimes Lonely City," and is a deep subject matter expert on how distinct governance structures and design qualities of public spaces impact meaningful social connection and loneliness. 

She holds a Master's in Urban Planning from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and was a recipient of the New York Chapter of the American Planning Association’s Award for excellence and leadership in Urban Planning.
