
Dr. Camille Kamga is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the City College of New York (CCNY), the flagship institution of The City University of New York (CUNY). He holds several key leadership positions, including Director of the Region 2 University Transportation Research Center (UTRC) since 2012, Acting Director of UTRC since 2009, Associate Director of the CUNY Institute for Urban Systems (CIUS) during 2002-2024, and Director of the CUNY Institute for Transportation Systems since 2022.
Dr. Kamga is a highly regarded figure in the transportation engineering field, having chaired numerous sessions at both national and international conferences. His commitment to professional development and education is evident in his service on the Board of Directors of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New York (ITS-NY) since 2010, where he chairs the education committee. Additionally, he has been actively involved in the governance of the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR) since 2011, contributing significantly to the development of its educational program. Dr. Kamga further demonstrates his expertise and leadership through his membership in various professional organizations and committees, including the standing committee on Urban Transportation Data and Information Systems (AED20) and the former standing committee on International Cooperation (A0010). He currently chairs the Research Council for the Urban Transportation Data and Information Systems committee and served on the Executive Committee of the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) in 2021-2024.
Dr. Kamga's extensive research portfolio is supported by numerous grants from prestigious organizations, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, the New York State Department of Transportation, the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council, the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New York City Department of Transportation, New York City Transit, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, the National Science Foundation, and the Volvo Research and Education Foundation. His work significantly contributes to advancements in transportation systems and infrastructure.
